Metalord has a long story in its short history. The band started in the early 2000's as a noisy outfit in singer/ lead guitarist Marc Belanger's parent’s basement in Baie St-Paul, Quebec. The original line-up also featured A-J Belley on the drums and vocal. Inspired by their heroes from Metallica, Megadeth, Nirvana, Pantera , Slayer and hundred great bands, the pair played with several bandmates in bars, festivals and parties in Canada throughout the years. Right from the start Metalord worked on their own songs and added cover tunes for their live set. The band gained local recognition where they set stages on fire with the packed and metal friendly audiences in Canada.

The next step was to record their first album and they approached music producer Jean Perruno, known for his work with Canadian act JLM (1.5 million copies sold throughout the world, nominated at the Juno Awards & Much Music Video Awards).Together they refined the musical direction of the songs and recorded the whole album at Sylver Recording Studio in Quebec city.

Connecting recently with Sebastien Maltais on bass guitar and expert axe slinger Samuel Pare, the band finished this long awaited first album called "Speed of life". Metalord recently signed a record deal with DEP/Universal Music Canada and Believe Digital, one of the leading digital distributor in the world providing their products in more than 240 countries.

This is the story for now, jump aboard with us for the next step. Preparing for their upcoming release, the band is set to tour extensively across the next coming year. Be sure to witness and experience this new musical sensation coming to a city near you!
